John Peers became a Grand Slam Champion on Saturday night after winning the men’s doubles at the Australian Open with partner Henri Kontinen.
John is one of the hardest working and most professional players I have worked with, and it was special to be able to share the last fortnight with him, Henri and Aspire coach Brenton Bacon.
Brenton worked with the boys all January and in John’s off-season in Perth. He can now add “Grand Slam Coach” to his CV … I’m sure he is going to be in demand over the next few weeks!!
We are working with Tennis West to have a celebration of John’s achievement at Mosman Park Tennis Club in the afternoon/evening of Friday 17 February. I will send more details once we finalise things.
In the meantime, attention quickly turns to summer programs for Term 1 …
- Saturday junior programs start this week
- All other programs for adults and juniors start next week
- Information and online enrolments can be found here
- If you are chasing private lessons, spots are filling fast so please contact the Pro Shop to lock in a time if you haven’t already.
As always, feel free to contact me by calling the Pro Shop on 0426206468 or via email, and we are more than happy to assist!
Looking forward to seeing many of you down at the Club soon on our brand new hard courts! (For those who weren’t aware, courts 7 – 10 were resurfaced with the blue Australian Open surface in the first week of January, meaning that the whole tennis club is now blue!!)
Have a great start to the school year!
